Choosing The Right Real Estate Agent…
Real Estate Agents
For most people, their home is their single largest investment, so choosing the right real estate agent is important. Finding a real estate agent that understands your needs can save you time and aggravation. But how do you know if the agent you’ve contacted is right for you? Below are a few tips for finding the right fit:
– Start with finding an agent in order to find a home, instead of working backwards. Many people often see a home on a website or newspaper and then contact an agent about the home they see advertised. Reaching out to a real estate agent first will ensure a better fit.
-Look for an agent that takes the time to explain things you may not understand and listens to your needs. Real estate transactions are comprised of complicated terminology and can be confusing. An agent who takes the time to explain the steps of the process will make the process easier.
-Find an agent you can trust, especially when it comes to pricing your home. Often times, homeowners are emotionally attached to their home, making it difficult to accurately price a home according to the market value. Results of the 2012 Prudential Fox & Roach agent survey showed that overpricing was the most common mistake among home owners when selling their home.
-Make sure your real estate agent can work with your schedule. If it is difficult for your agent to match your availability, you might need to find someone else. If you are selling your home, your real estate agent needs to be able to show your house at a time that works for you.
