Packer Park Houses Destroyed in Fire
4 Homes Affected from Fire in Packer Park
This was the seen last night when three cops were hurt while saving a female senior citizen from a house fire in South Philadelphia. The fire started on the 32oo block Chaucer street in the Packer Park section of Philadelphia. The elderly woman that was rescued was Angela Munao, an elderly woman, who lived in the property alone. The fire spread quick according to firefighters. 3239, 3241, 3243, and 3245 Chauncer street were all destroyed in this massive blaze that broke at about 6:23 p.m.
The fire was visible from miles away. Fans from the Phillies game posted pictures on social media sites from the Citizens Bank Park showing the massive amounts black smoke that were visible. This picture above is from about 1/2 mile away prior to the inferno getting out of control.
This picture is the aftermath of the homes in Packer Park. The police are reporting minor injuries to their hands and no other victims were hurt as a cause of the fire itself. The Red Cross is helping the families of the 4 homes that were affected by this horrible mishap.
